We lost again. This isn't really that suprising, given how we've been going (I don't think we've won yet this season) and our lack of players this week. Honestly, why they put a match on a long weekend I don't know. Especially 4.30pm on a long weekend. Out of the usual 4 girls who play, 2 were on dirty weekends and one was still at work. Which left me. Fortunately the other team didn't object to us playing 4 guys instead of the mandated 3 - they've played us before and remembered how crap we were. That left us with a full team and no interchanges, so we took turns playing sweeper and goalie to have a break.
Dean managed to injure himself again - every time I ask him to fill in playing team sports he either (a) does his knee or (b) ends up with severe bruising. This time it was both. I'm guessing it's the last time he fills in as goalie. And yet he hits people with sticks every week and has only twice come home with major bruising. Must be the mindset - either that or you don't run as much and therefore are less likely to do your knee in Filipino martial arts.

It's usually quite fun (apart from the lose massively bit) and very social. I originally started the netball teams to keep in contact with people and the soccer was started with a similar aim. So we all get together once a week, run around a bit, injure ourselves and others and catch up on the goss. Cool. Dean admittedly isn't the only one to injure himself playing goalie - I ended up with a sprained right wrist and a badly sprained (ie mashed) left ring finger just before Christmas. Made me very popular at work - the busiest week of the year and I'm off sick for 1 day and unable to do full duties for two. :-)
