yarra flood pictures

hnpccI should note upfront that these are not taken by me. I don't actually know who took them, they went around the e-mail at work. They're very good pictures though!
The booking kiosks for the boats. On the lower level along Southgate, not usually underwater though.
Looking down from Princes Bridge to Southgate. You can see the line of poles that usually marks the edge of the bank - then there's usually about a metre drop into the water. Hm.

The Yarra this morning was back down below the bike paths, people were even cycling in on them (avoiding the debris everywhere and presumably skidding on the mud.) We went down to look at Merri Creek last night - it had obviously partially flooded the market garden near Munro St some time yesterday, although everything was down by the time we went. The creek apparently measured 4.3m at 10am yesterday, and only 3.2m at 5pm - I'd be fascinated to see what it looked like earlier!
It was still in flood though - the Nicholson St creek path was underwater, and most of the trees that line the bank were partially submerged. Hopefully I'll get photos tonight, we left it a bit late to take reasonable photos yesterday.
And it's raining again in Clayton!
