Ok happy smiley things for a change.

Easter and the Anzac Day long weekend were mostly good. Friends over from New York, brother down from Canberra, time-share terrier down from Dean's parents. Lots of socialising.

Saw the penguins again Easter Monday. I like penguins. Not as many coming out as during breeding season, but still enough to make everyone happy. And over so much more quickly than in summer - daylight fades much quicker at this time of year.

Caught up with parents last Saturday. Managed to leave all makeup and hairbrush at parent's place. Again. I usually manage to leave something behind. Parents are well. All of us headed off to friend's not-reception. Lots of people I hadn't seen in over 10 years. Interesting.

Missed all of comedy festival. Again. Sorry [livejournal.com profile] barrington, even with an invite I didn't manage to make it. Will try harder next year. Honest. (Actually, next year let's look at the guide when it comes out and make a date and bookings in advance. You never know, it might work!)

Played netball - new season - last night. Won 19-5. I love the start of the season when all the new guys are still working out the rules. ;-) We lost the grand final last season, but not by much. Went to the pub afterwards, I meant to post but didn't and then forgot. Anyway we played mostly well last night except for the fourth quarter when for some reason everyone decided to throw at the tall player's knees and two feet over the short player (me). I thought we were going to lose - trust the defence players to have no idea what the score is.

Caught up with almost all of 24 and Survivor on Anzac Day. Am now only 2 hours behind on 24, can probably get up to date on Saturday! Now to start on Buffy. And just while I'm here: can channel 7 ads and voiceovers get any more annoying? And how many adjectives do you need to describe Cold Feet? Just tell me what time it's on and then shut up and let me watch the credits.

I bought two books from Readings on Sunday, both murder mysteries. I probably need to expand my reading a bit, atm it's murder and travel. Preferably both, but I'm quite happy even if they're separate. I really need to read Jackson's Track by Carolyn Langdon, who, incidentally, was my English and journalism teacher at high school. It looks interesting. Dean managed to convince me that buying yet another Lonely planet was a bad idea.

And the best news I've had all week: there's an industry morning tea next week. With cakes from Brunettis. I'm there!
