ownership memes
Oct. 18th, 2004 11:26 amBecause I'm waiting for sequence comparisons to come back...
Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
I'm guessing that no one is likely to own "Jerry Jerry and the Sons of Rhythm Orchestra: Don't mind if I do". Also, I own the Ringwood Band's CD, which I can pretty much guarantee that no one else will have. :-)
Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
This one's harder. I do own a 1949 copy of the "English for New Australians" book that was given to all non-English speaking migrants arriving - it actually has the statement that this is a gift from the people of Australia to the new migrants to help them in the front. I bought it up in Beechworth, mostly for interest's sake. Some of the phrases are completely useless ("Do you grow much wheat?"), although still better than my "Dutch for Migrants" (I'm paraphrasing a bit here) which had conversations like "Where do you work, Fatima?" "I'm a cleaner on the railways". I must find where I put that book btw.
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does:
Hm. I don't actually own that many movies. Wild stab in the dark: does anyone else have "Stormboy", "Enigma" or "Bravo Two Zero"? (technically the last one's Dean's, but I find it hysterically funny so I watch it anyway).
Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has:
Oh sheesh, I dunno. Boisdale springs to mind. Noojee? This is kind of weird, because these are places that no one would be likely to go for any reason. If you want touristy places then the odds of me having gone there and no one else... actually, Syracuse, New York. For the Erie Canal museum - well worth it, btw. Rest of the town's dead, but I liked the museum. :-) Ditto Jackson, Michigan, which was for Dean's museum. I just wandered around the town.
ETA the bleeding obvious I suppose... and because I can't spell properly
