Feb. 24th, 2009 04:49 pmInteresting map of where all the car manufacturing plants are in the US. Or, what happens if Detroit goes under? Most of the MidWest follows.
And as someone pointed out, that's not even including the parts manufacturers.
Now I'm wondering what a similar map would look like for Victoria. Apart from Geelong and Broadmeadows where the assembly plants are I wonder where all the parts places are and how spread out they are.
Interesting blog entry on the Mexican Drug Crisis. Hm, probably not the best way of describing it, but I'm not sure I'm getting anything better. A lot about the hypocrisy of the US media (with ours giggling along behind) loudly jumping up and down about Michael Phelps smoking a joint (or whatever) while across the border there were 6000 drug related murders in 2008.
The Trilogy Meter. What's making me laugh is the number of sequels I haven't actually seen.
Octuplet 'father' wants paternity test. Seems to be a lot of paternity tests going around. Not to mention wtf?!? Weren't they conceived via donation?
Interesting retrospective of opinions on Mugabe.
"We did not read him right, in the beginning.
We were hungry for a hero.
A lot of us had never met a black person who was so eloquent. A man who appeared so intelligent, and so powerful."
"He used to make a point of attending cricket matches. The white spectators were always very pleased to see him there.
He was referred to affectionately as "Uncle Bob".
For me, it has always been an enigma as to at what point he changed."
Meanwhile of course the crisis in Zimbabwe continues. *sigh*
