8 hours till 2009 is finished, and the decade with it [1]. It seems to have gone awfully fast, it feels like only recently that we were cheering in the new millennium [2].
One of the stranger things has been reading the list of things that weren't around in 2000, or which had only just started. Like Facebook and YouTube and a whole heap of other stuff that sort of crept in and took over.
This year hasn't been too bad all up. One lot of surgery, but no other major injuries or illnesses for either of us (nice change from last year that). Travel was fun. Work was... rapidly becoming less interesting and more frustrating. Study kind of made up for that, although the frustration levels rose dramatically in the second semester. I swear if there are any more group assignments I'm changing subjects.
Got fitter. Stayed fat. Hair's gotten a lot greyer, in what feels like a short space of time (but is possibly the last 5 years or so.) I still need to learn how to do makeup properly.
No funerals this year. Lots of births.
Overall a nice year.
