Last night I went to see [livejournal.com profile] barrington's Fringe Festival Show, Science-ology. It was fun. Last time I went to see one of his shows, I accidentally stacked the audience with PhD graduates. This time, I managed to bring a CSIRO employee to a show which featured some of CSIRO's less fine moments from earlier this year. It was highly amusing, particularly seeing as my friend works in the department that was being featured in the news. He thought so too, incidentally. :-)

One of the problems with going to [livejournal.com profile] barrington's shows is that I'm always tempted to heckle, but don't because (a) Melbourne audiences (particularly at early shows) don't tend to do that to begin with, (b) I know I'm not as funny as I think I am and (c) well... [livejournal.com profile] barrington's a friend and it wouldn't be polite. Or something.

But I did have an internal heckle going for a bit during the show, not least when we got to the comparisons of research assistants and roadies. Oh and the answer to the question "Does this prove what Dr Who was talking about is correct?" should actually be "no, but it proves Who fans are sad." ;-)

I do think I should start e-mailing before shows to ask if there's anyone he'd prefer me not to bring though. Sam Neill? (Yeah, I should be so lucky.) Members of the Prime Minister's Committee for Climate Change? (do-able, surprisingly.) [livejournal.com profile] astrocave? (heh...)

Oh well, speaking as a roadie - we may not get fame and fortune, but at least we get blow jobs.

ETA:[livejournal.com profile] barrington, would you mind doing a show on Andrew Bolt next? Cos, you know, it'd be funny. Or disturbing, I haven't quite made up my mind on that yet.

Wow...that Andrew Bolt sure gets around. I'll try and slip that one into the show tonight or tomorrow.
