Under the covers
Sep. 27th, 2002 05:51 pmOK, if you could (and had a band and all that) which ten songs would you cover?
Mine are - and I admit to a strong liking for bass at the moment - in no particular order:
1. "Poison" - Alice Cooper. OK, OK, it's the dress up factor. See the film clip if you don't believe me. I like dressups.
2. "99 luchtballons." - Nina? In German. The English version is OK, but the German scans better and I like it. I can't speak it or sing it, but this is fantasy.
3. "Ik wil je" - De Kreuners. The bass factor. Lots of bass riff. Mmm.
4. "Zo jong" - De Kreuners (again). Dress up factors mostly. ;-) Hard to explain in English. Well, OK, easy to explain in English but I'm not going to. *grin* "Zij ist jong..(zo jong) en compulsif voor mij."
5. "You don't have to say you love me" - Dusty Springfield. But only if I have a voice as good as hers. Love her voice. Want it. Argh.
6. "I was made for loving you" - KISS. OK, this is probably my daggiest choice (well so far). I blame the bass. And the makeup. Let's face it, it's got almost everything I want. :-)
7. "Allentown" - Billy Joel, but a hard rock version. With bass. And crashes. I can hear it, but I can't make Dean hear it yet. Hm.
8. "La Isla Bonita" - Madonna but again, a hard rock version. With sort of salsa. This one I've sung at Dean, so he can hear it now.
9. "The winner takes it all" - ABBA. OK, a close runner up for my daggiest choice. But it's so sad. And it therefore involves dressups.
and finally
10. "She's an angel" - They Might Be Giants. The tuba. Sort of bassy. And besides, it's got the lyric: These things happen to other people/They don't happen at all, in fact
which I often relate to. Particularly if you put the word wierd in front of people, which I seem to do while singing along.
So there's the score from Radio HNPCC. I'll probably update this list as my liking for bass continues (argh, missed "totally addicted to bass"! How could I forget that?) and I find more songs that I didn't have time to type. ;-)
