More photos for the lab today. Looks like I'll end up on the web page after all, dammit.

Coming down in the lift I overheard a second year talking to her friends about applying for a summer studentship:

"I got to the bit where they asked about why you want to do research and I put down:

'I think doing research would be like working with Santa Claus'.

Not sure why, it just came into my head..."

?!?!?!???

I'm almost hoping she gets it just to watch the illusions shatter...

that's quite sweet:) If she tries really hard maybe she can stay that enthusiastic about life. I try to be..but with patchy success! [Reality does so have a habit of getting in the way;)

Yes, but what does it mean??

Delivering toys? (Well, depends on how you define toy).

Making people happy? (Rarely although it can happen).

I dunno, it was just such a bizarre comment... :_)

maybe it was more to do with how santa made her feel when she was little? You know, all excited and full of anticipation, and wonder? Sound familiar??!! [hardy har har....wonder if anyone feels like that about their job?]
