Nov. 4th, 2002 06:44 pmSaturday was our long-awaited Halloween party. Yeah, it was two days after Halloween. Yeah, Halloween isn't really that big in Australia. Yeah it coincided with the Cup Day de facto long weekend so half the guests couldn't come. But what the hell, we had a dress up party anyway.
We'd wanted to ever since we went to a Halloween party in Toronto, where almost everyone was dressed up and it was a big thing. Dean came as AliG, and very scary he was too. I went as a rock chick, my first choice of Ogre Fiona from Shrek being canned due to being unable to find a green dress in time (OK, I probably could have started looking a bit earlier than Friday night, but I was finishing assignments for most of the previous three weeks). We had bats on the window. We had glow-in-the-dark tombstones in the back yard. We had two carved pumpkins. It was great. Other dressups included: Steve and Terri Irwin with crocodile and snake, Russell Coight (and how scary is it to have him in the same room as Steve Irwin! We should have had a celebrity deathmatch or something!) two Race-goers (who, totally coincidentally, had come from Derby Day), a Pirate (arrr), a gypsy, a fairy, the two headed alien from Total Recall, a cat, and two witches. (Or a witch and a warlock, it kind of depends how you look at it.) Oh and a devil. :-)
We drank, ate and talked and did your general party stuff. It was fun. I think we'll do it again next year.
Might find photos somewhere at some stage...
