Well if Myer can have a "Christmas" parade on November 15th I don't see why I can't do this now. Stolen from

undergroundsea and posted as a change to the exercise stuff. Heh.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Wrapping paper. Usually last year's. Occasionally newspaper when we run out. Traditionally in my house Santa's presents come in newspaper and presents from relatives come in wrapping paper.

2. Real tree or artificial?

Real. I'm trying to talk Dean into buying one rather than jumping the fence at the reservoir and nicking one. He's all for the James Bond-esque stuff.

3. When do you put up the tree?

At this rate, Dec 24th.

4. When do you take the tree down?

Some time in early-mid Jan. Before Australia Day at least!

5. Do you like eggnog?

I have no idea what eggnog is to be honest. I've read about it, but I don't think I've ever tasted any.

6. Favorite gifts received as a child?

Hm. Bicycle ("Purple Star") and rollerskates.

7. Hardest person to buy for?

At the moment, everyone. I either have an idea or I'm completely stuck, and at the moment I'm in the stuck category.

8. Easiest person to buy for?

My nieces. At 16 months and 2 months they're definitely going to be the easiest! And the new niece/nephew, who'll be under one month - I can give them shiny wrapping paper and they'll be entranced if somewhat unfocused.

9. Do you have a nativity scene?

No, I don't think so. Not that I can remember what's in my Christmas box at the moment, or where it is for that matter.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

I attempt to mail them, then e-mail when I fail.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

Can't think of any offhand.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?

Heh. Die Hard and Die Hard 2. Ok, they're not "Christmas movies" per se, but...

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

No, not that I can think of.

Those German gingerbread biscuits. Yum.

Yup.

The "For unto us a child is given" bit of Handel's Messiah.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

Usually some travel involved. Not sure what's happening this year!

Rudolf, Prancer, Blitzen, Dasher, Donner, Dancer, Sleepy?

Hm, good question. Where's that Christmas box again?

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

If there's kids then Santa's presents get opened in the morning. All the rest are after lunch.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?

Fake snow decorations. It's 35oC outside and people put fake snow decorations up. Yes, it's theoretically possible we could have a white Christmas - but it's pretty bloody unlikely.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

'Ornament theme'? It's Christmas! What do you want, a Titanic theme?

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?

Cold meats and salad!
