Dec. 9th, 2002 04:50 pmWe've got another new person in the office.
They've got a computer.
They were setting it up when I came in at 3pm.
When I came back at 5.45pm, they'd pulled our (shared) computer's connection out of the wall to put their computer's connection in.
OK, they're a bioinformatics person. They probably need the internet connection. But geez, would it have been that hard to ask? Or leave a note? Not to mention that this entire office is set up for bioinformatics, which means they could probably find another connection - or failing that, plug ours back in somewhere else...
But then again, why am I surprised? We still haven't been introduced.
I haven't been this amazed since a guy at PMCI "borrowed" our lab computer and changed all the settings on it, without asking, because "he liked it better that way" and "we weren't using it that much anyway". No, there were only two of us writing up at the time...
Oh well, tomorrow's another full day of negotiation.
Or something.
(And yeah, I pulled theirs back out of the wall and put ours back in. After spending 5 mins going "why are all the servers down?")
