First and last lines of posts for the previous year.

First:

Jan: Last Sunday we headed up to Kinglake.
Feb: We started stage three of the trail training on Saturday, walking from checkpoints 4 to 6.
Mar: I'd never heard of the Bath School District Disaster until it came up during a forum discussion about the guy in Texas who flew his plane into the tax office as an earlier example of someone annoyed at paying taxes (amongst other things) who took a pretty extreme means of making that clear. God, that's one sentence?? I really need to edit more.
Apr: Two gigs in two nights, both under the 'Blues' musical umbrella and both completely different.
May: I've been following the new "anti-illegal worker" legislation in Arizona with some degree of interest.
Jun: So the final United States of Agony fundraising total was $5127!!!
Jul: And then there was one. Surprisingly this was not about reality TV, but about the World Cup. OK, sort of reality TV.
Aug: This election is making me angry.
Sep: So as far as I can work out from the current figures on the AEC website we're stuck at:
Oct: Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
Nov: Today was the Melbourne Cup.
Dec: I walked into the lab and there was a film crew doing a piece to camera.

Two months running the first post was about Australian politics; one month was US politics. For someone who's apparently been claiming since at least 2006 to be completely disengaged from politics I seem to post a hell of a lot about it.

Last:

Jan: Now I'm going to have to go back and confirm. She had no name other than Caprica Six as far as I could see.
Feb: I don't think she would have taken me if she'd realised it had full frontal male nudity in it. *snerk*
Mar: Bad timing. Group talk/Essay/Queensland/Oxfam. Worst planning I managed all year.
Apr: We're seriously going to have to look at speeding up a bit next year if we do it!
May: That and what my tutor wants appears to be fairly random at the best of times.
Jun: I hope some good can come of your death, as it did with your life. Vale M. Chebeya. You, your people and your country should not be forgotten.
Jul: Unbelievable. In response to my favourite undergraduate pub closing and being sold to developers. Since then a favourite Hospital pub has suffered the same fate, much to everyone's disbelief, as have at least another two that I know of. Who'd have thought Melbourne would be closing pubs to build flats?
Aug: I think they might have run more than we did.
Sep: What the hell was I thinking?
Oct: And the gorilla. Mulholland Drive. OK, that didn't really explain much.
Nov: Pass on the evil!
Dec: I can't see the next year being much different.
