Apr. 8th, 2003 06:02 pmLast night was our netball semi-final.
We won. :-)
We are legends. :-)
I'd been getting really frustrated with both soccer and netball over the last couple of weeks: soccer last week because we should have done much, much better than the scoreline indicated and because I was playing like crap (even more so than my usual bad standard). Netball because we were losing by whatever margin the team managed to get in the first quarter: the quarter where for the last three weeks our shooter played WD because she was running late and I - whose shooting is ordinary at best - played GS.
But last night was magic. We were all there 10 or more minutes early. We were hyped. We were ready to go out from the first ball and kill them.
And we did.
The first half we scored 10, to their one. The second half they finally found a combination which (a) didn't result in them contacting a lot and (b) which started to work for them, and pulled back.
We still won 15-11.
So now we're in the Grand Final next week. God knows how we'll go in that, but we should have a slight advantage in that whoever we're playing will have played the second semi 40 minutes before the Grand Final. Yes, that added substantially to our motivation for winning.
Even if we don't win next week though, we had a fantastic game last night. :-)
