2. Daddy’s Roommate by Michael Willhoite
3. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
4. The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier - we studied this in year 10
5. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
6. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
7. Harry Potter (Series) by J.K. Rowling
8. Forever by Judy Blume - this one was controversial at my school. Which is probably why my entire class read it in year 8, passing it round the year level...
9. Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson - we studied this in year 10 too. Can't actually think of a reason this one would be controversial at all, actually.

23. Go Ask Alice by Anonymous - one of my friends, now a respected park ranger, did four book reviews (years 7-10) on this. Same review each time, of course, she just updated it slightly every year.
