So my ankle's now only twice the size and I'm in less pain and a slightly better mood than yesterday. :-)
It's still black though.
The funniest moment was going to the doctor this morning - the last time I went in (2 weeks ago) was to ask about a possible hairline fracture[1] from playing soccer. This time he's come out, seen me on crutches, done a double take and gone:
"I think you should not play soccer, you seem to be injury prone".
"This was netball".
"You're uncoordinated then."
Well der, that's why I'm on crutches...
Hopefully I'm back to work tomorrow - I'm going insane being at home, not interacting with anyone, watching crap tv and being unable to do anything useful, like clean the house.
The thing that's getting to me the most though? Showering. I can't get in/out of the shower without Dean's help, which makes me feel about 80. I also have really shitty balance when standing on one leg trying to shampoo my hair with my eyes closed (sounds like some year 7 balance test really), which annoys the hell out of me. Fortunately there's a sponge rail that I can hang on to. God help Dean if I'm ever seriously injured - I'm a shitty patient.
[1]big lump, still there after 4 months. Got X-ray, knew it probably wasn't a fracture when the tech asked if I was sure I had the right leg. Could be a tumour... :-)
Oh and apparently it was Union not League we were watching. No one knew....
