this sporting life

We normally play soccer at Albert Park. At the start of every year, the soccer (and netball and all the other sporting clubs) are kicked out so they can set up the track for the Grand Prix.
In previous years we've been moved to Brunswick Secondary College, Albert Park Secondary College and this year to Debney Park Secondary College.
Last year we almost missed the start of the game because the majority of players from the two teams couldn't find the hall entrance - in fact we only found it because the ref came out looking for us. Both teams were outside, playing kick-to-kick having walked the entire way around the building twice. Signs, people, they always help. As does the ref turning up slightly earlier than the advertised starting time of the game. And you wonder why we run late.
This year we got cancelled because they'd managed to double book the hall. Oops. :-) Still, at least it appears everyone could find the door at least.
I'm still not playing, but I am having a CT scan on the ankle today. As I proved on Thursday, I still can't run unless I'm on a trampoline. It's something to do with the motion of running compared to jogging on the spot, both of which are different from walking. I don't exactly know how, but my tendon - still very stiff, but getting a bit better - is involved. Funnily enough. And the impact through the joint (of running, not walking) still hurts.
