Stolen off someone who stole it off [livejournal.com profile] sneerpout. Like everyone else, I reserve the right to edit this list as my moods change and I remember the name of the song I wanted.

1. What are your favourite romantic/"love" songs? how about anti-"love" songs?

Love-songs:

I'm ashamed of this one "Everything I do, I do it for you" Bryan Adams
"Baby can I hold you", Tracy Chapman (I'm not sure if this should go here or the next section, but on balance, probably here)
"Daar gaat ze", Clouseau.
"Domino", Clouseau - more an ode to failed love actually. But I love the lyrics, and it's more love than anti-love.

Anti-love:

"Sweet guy", Paul Kelly
"Winner takes it all", Abba
"What becomes of the brokenhearted?", erm, forgotten who did the original. I like the version from "In the shadows of Motown" though. Not that I can remember the singer from that either.
"Release me" - totally forgotten who it's by.

2. What was the last song that you heard? Did you sing along?

It was a combination of "Going Under" by Evanescence, seguing into the South African National Anthem (Nkosi Sikele Africa - not spelt right probably), with a bit of "Dr Worm" from They Might Be Giants. No, I didn't sing along, I was too busy wondering why those songs had just popped into my head.

3. What are your favourite t.v. theme songs?

Buffy theme. DrWho. Red Dwarf. The music from "Bangkok Hilton".

4. what are your favourite movie soundtracks?

"Man from Snowy River" - love the music from that. "Bandits" - wierd compilation of music. And I had to get the tracks from "Dazed and Confused", "Bridget Jones' Diary" and "Grosse Pointe Blank" as well.

5. what songs remind you of adolescence?

Pretty much anything poppy from the 80s. Specifically, "Wake me up before you go go" reminds me of starting high school, "Poison", "Bat out of hell" and "Every rose has its thorn" remind me of year 12. "Working class man" reminds me of idiot Simon from year 11. He bought tickets to the gig in Taralgon - then found out he couldn't go in because he was underage and it was a licensed venue. "I eat cannibals" remains one of the few songs I know most of the lyrics to. Rehearsing to a song will do that to you.

Actually that new song from Garbage ("it's my life"? something like that) reminds me very strongly of adolescence - I think it's the synthesiser.

6. What is your favourite album cover?

I like the cover of The Scorpions "Moment of Glory" for some strange reason. Other than that.. U2's "War".

7. What was the first album you bought? Do you still own it?

First single was "Chequered love" by Kim Wilde. First album was "Men at Work" self-titled. Yeah they're around somewhere, although I think I've now got them both on CD as well.

8. What are your favourite songs to dance to?

ABBA, pretty much everything. After that it depends on whether I'm "dancing" or "I'm drunkenly hopping around". Dancing - dance beat songs. Or 80s music (preferably without the added dance beat.) Drunkenly hopping - "Khe Sahn" for choice, closely followed by "Paradise by the Dashboard light", and any other bogan sing along songs you'd care to name. ;-) And sorry about spilling the bundy and coke on you, mate.

9. What songs do you most typically choose from a jukebox?

Whatever's on that I like and am in the mood for.

10. If you had to make a song list for your funeral, what would you want included to sum up your life, so to speak?

Aargh. I have absolutely no idea.

I think I'll come back to this later.

"It's My Life" is by No Doubt.

What an almost totally useless comment. :-)
