Star Wars (no spoilers)
May. 16th, 2002 12:24 pmSaw it last night with around 300 other fans.
I liked it. Some didn't but I did.
Great action. What barrington referred to was excellent.
Not as good as Empire (my fave) but way, way better than Phantom Menace.
And definitely try and see it with fans. Trek and Star Wars are both much better if everyone in the room is laughing at the in jokes, even if the movie (especially Insurrection) is crap.

Date: 2002-05-16 05:35 pm (UTC)I agree with ajr, but I think a lot of the hype wasn't studio generated, it was fan generated and after the disappointment of Ep1 people weren't willing to get as excited. We really found that ticket sales for the 12.01am screening (yes, I am that sad) were very slow compared to last time and the Star Wars guest we had at the last con didn't attract as many people as he would have prior to ep 1. I was really starting to wonder if Lucas realised how much of his own franchise (or should that be fanchise?) he'd killed off.
I think there'll be a lot more hype about Ep3 now though... :-
