nicked from [livejournal.com profile] barrington. The 10 people I've known longest in my friends list.

This took a while because I had to remember who = where = when. I think this is is right. The things in brackets are what I'm using to remember the years.

[livejournal.com profile] shnetti, [livejournal.com profile] droxina, and [livejournal.com profile] barrington I met IRL (in order I think it went [livejournal.com profile] shnetti then [livejournal.com profile] droxina, then [livejournal.com profile] barrington?) and online via atvrd and the mailing list in 1995. All of us were at Multiverse 1, although some of us don't actually remember others being there. I also met [livejournal.com profile] sardy both IRL at the first Meet up in Sydney in 1995, which [livejournal.com profile] sardy, [livejournal.com profile] droxina and myself were at, and via atvrd. And I have photos from that Meet still. God we look young... ;-) (Escaping bad triple ligation cloning experience). I remember [livejournal.com profile] barrington much better from the DJJ Day(s), but I already knew you previously so I think that must have been from M1 and M2. And isn't it bad to have friends who can remember the dodgy things you did when you were 17, but you don't know the dodgy things they did? Good for us, anyway. ;-)

Presumably I encountered [livejournal.com profile] frieda on atvrd in 1995 as well, although I'm certain he wouldn't have noticed me until quite a bit later. I'm quiet, OK? Whereas the first time I hit atvrd was in the middle of an NGPOTY campaign. The first post I opened had "Vote Friday" several million times through it. Disturbingly, that would also put [livejournal.com profile] charlesd quite high on the list. Or quite high at least. Definitely 95 though.

[livejournal.com profile] ang_grrr, [livejournal.com profile] gamemaker, [livejournal.com profile] hawkida, [livejournal.com profile] epideme, [livejournal.com profile] dsn, [livejournal.com profile] _jamez_, [livejournal.com profile] tomburnell, [livejournal.com profile] polyhedra, [livejournal.com profile] prid09, [livejournal.com profile] jakebullet and [livejournal.com profile] ajr I encountered on atvrd and, when I got to work early enough, on #starbug as well some time between 1995-1999. I really quite honestly have no idea when people came online (I'm bad at remembering things like that). [livejournal.com profile] hawkida and [livejournal.com profile] gamemaker
came out to Oz and I met them then (97? Nah, noisy car. '99? When did you guys come out?). I finally met [livejournal.com profile] polyhedra IRL in Sydney in late 97 (virus work) and again at his wedding in 98 (after virus work). ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] dsn and [livejournal.com profile] epideme came out for Multiverse 3 which was definitely the start of 1998 (being on a committee helps focus the mind). [livejournal.com profile] epideme didn't leave again ;-) and [livejournal.com profile] dsn's still out on a regular basis. ;-)

I seem to be having major trouble remembering the 90s. See kids, that's why you don't do postgrad degrees. They screw with your mind.

ETA [livejournal.com profile] jakebullet because my brain really has died. Anyone else I've forgotten?

And here I thought you were one of those people who had met maybe two LJers in person when you joined.
