Jun. 7th, 2004 12:30 pmFri night we went to an 80s themed trivia night, which was being held to benefit the MS Society.
It was supposed to be cheaper if you dressed up - I didn't but Dean did. No one really noticed though, which says a lot about his wardrobe.
Our team was called "Very Simple Minds". An apt description as it turned out, although we didn't end up doing too badly except in the Politics and Sport rounds. Unfortunately they were 2/5 rounds so that kept us down a bit. None of us could remember what year they tried to blow up Maggie Thatcher, although all of us could remember where it was and what was going on. The year? Unimportant. ;-)
But the music round... we rocked. Literally. Us (and three other teams) all got a perfect score. So we had a tiebreaker.
And we won! Trust the metal head (Dean) to know the answer to "Which shoe company did RunDMC endorse".
So now we have lots of 80s CDs. :-)
We ended up with a final score of 45/60, which was way below the leaders (54/60). But we had fun. And won CDs. And that's what mattered...

Date: 2004-06-07 08:40 pm (UTC)Apparently there was a doco on RunDMC a bit earlier in the week that he'd had on while doing something else and that bit stuck. :-)
Or so he claims... he could also just be trying to protect his metalhead status here.. ;-)
