Driving to work through the city thinking "why is there so much traffic?"

Then I saw the bloke with the Greek flag.

Oh yeah, Lonsdale St's closed between Russell and Swanston.

Remind me not to go through the city on Monday morning...

(And I'm starting to think they can win this!)

In some ways, I wish the Czech Republic had won because overall they seemed to be the best team, and I think Greece got through via flukes. Though that's just my opinion, so it may not be accurate :D

this is soccer, where a good last minute fluke (or a really bad umpiring decision) is really all you need.

Oh most definitely! Which is a pity whenever one team are far better than their opponents but there's nothing you can do.

is the Athens Olympics going to be even further behind now - they'll all be skiving off to watch the game! ;-)

Yes!!! Well, that's their excuse anyway :D

I've watched most games. Greece haven't been overly lucky and haven't benefited much from the referee. To beat Portugal, draw with Spain... then resist an onslaught by France to beat them can't all be luck.

To get a goal in the 105th minute in the only 105 minute football match in history, thanks to what will be an obsolete rule once 20004 is over (silver goal), was a bit lucky.

This tournament has been spoilt by injuries to key players at vital moments. First Rooney gets a foul given against him by someone breaking his foot, today Nevdev was really starting to split the Greece defence apart when he damaged his knee!

Greece will need a lot of luck against Portugal. All the referees so far have been favouring the home side.

The way this is shaping up I'd be putting certain parts of the city out of bounds till after the Olympics.
