Oct. 13th, 2004 04:10 pmIt's absolutely pelting down outside.
This is after the 32oC day yesterday and the 30oC day on Monday.
My odds of getting Dean to come walking with me tonight are decreasing with every raindrop - although it'll probably have cleared up again by the time I get home, or not be raining at all where I live.
The other night I played netball in the rain. It was so bad we got washed out at the end of the third quarter (which was annoying, not least because the score was quite close and we were just down at the end of the 3rd, but up at half-time. Oh well). All of us were very wet - not soaked through, but definitely dripping and flat hair and the like.
I drove towards home, intending to go to the supermarket off Separation St on the way.
Then I noticed that since crossing the Yarra the ground had been getting drier and drier. By the time I hit Northcote there was no sign of there having been any rain whatsoever.
I decided to go home instead of having people wonder why, exactly, I'd decided to shower in my clothes.
Apparently they'd had a few drops but nothing else. Dean was a bit surprised when I came through the door looking as if I'd been swimming.
