Dec. 20th, 2004 03:41 pmOK, I thought I'd give some clues before giving answers.
2. If we'd go again/all the way from the start
This group sings in English, but aren't, have had one song chart in Australia. This lyric's not from it. They've had chart hits in the US and in Europe, dunno about the UK.
6. You wake up and you put on your handcuffs
OK, I admit I will be very surprised if anyone has this album. It's out of Canada, hasn't charted anywhere that I know of. But great opening line, hey!
12.The things we won't do for love
jamaisneutral
Solo female US artist, I'm not sure that this song charted, but the album definitely did in Aust, US and - I think - the UK.
14. He went up to heaven in a whirlwind!
Large choral vocals. Lots of them. Kinda cool.
16. Doctor, doctor, please!
80s Euroband, who also sing in English. No idea where they've charted. Very guitar-based. Great song though.
18. The TV's on/that's what it's for
barrington
Heh... g'waan
barrington you know you know it... early 90s Australian.
19. And their hearts were held in fast suburban chains
Can I just say that I cannot believe no one has gotten this?!? Especially
shnetti, who basically got told at the wedding... OK I did sort of accidentally put in another by the same band, but even so! ;-)
20. I still need your love/we're in this together
Solo female UK artist, early 90s song. No idea if it charted in Oz, definitely did in Europe. One of many artists who I wish I could sing like.
24. Don't say goodbye/say you're gonna stay for ever
OK, one of the Deano ones. Charted in Oz, charted in the US. Probably not in the UK. Think big hair and guitars.
25. I could not understand
Major, major band. And this song charted everywhere. Seriously, it did. Which makes me wonder if I got the lyric right, but I'm not going to worry too much about it...
So there you have it. Any more takers?
