Dean bought a bike!

I came home on Wednesday to find him sweaty and happy looking. Yes, after months (possibly years actually) of me going "you should buy a bike. Then we could go bike riding!" he actually went out and bought one.

It's an adult version of the BMX he used to ride, with a bit of a mountain bike cross (OK, I've actually no idea what it is, I admit).

So so far he's ridden it home from Clifton Hill (where he bought it) and up to Coburg Lake and back.

And so far he's had the chain snap (way home from Clifton Hill) and a fairly massive thorn puncture the rear tyre (way home from Coburg Lake). At this rate we're going to be cycling with an entire repair kit strapped to the back.

The guys in the shop were very helpful about the chain - it's some rivet thing that actually snapped, and they replaced it last night. Now we just need to fix the puncture and we're away!

Well except for putting my bike, which is currently in bits on the lounge room floor back together again of course. :-)

did I mention my darling girlfriend (weetniet got a bike from her gran last week... she's been acting like a 12-year-old all week, actually putting the thing on display in the front room!
