Jun. 29th, 2002 02:08 amI just finished up at SPC. I feel a bit strange. Everything is normal, except that my locker is empty and I had a mild panic on the way home when I realised I didn't have the key. Then I realised why I didn't have the key and started giggling. I got my own toolbox talk - a full gathering of almost everyone there at 9pm to say farewell. I thought there might be a card, but I really wasn't expecting that - let alone the three gifts as well. Bronie ought to be a manager - she found out at 10.30pm last night that I was leaving and organised the whole thing overnight. When I said that I was really impressed with her organisation - and believe me, I was - she said "I've got kids. You have to be organised". This doesn't explain why half the real managers who have kids aren't.. but then again, they're blokes. And then I worked on the dock until 9pm, said bye to the drivers I didn't say bye to last night and drove home.
It feels normal. But strange.
