Uni started back last week (the week before was O-week) and so I'm back to part two of this grad dip. It didn't start that promisingly when I was told at a BBQ the week before that due to the secretary of the department leaving, no lecture theatres had been booked and we might well not have lecture space! Joy!
But, as it turned out, we did and they eventually got their act together and sent us out the manuals only one week after starting.
Then, today, we had the first computer lab tute. What a freaking joke. 10 computers, about 25 students, the server (which had the stats program we needed on it) crashed - but of course, it's a server, they always crash at the best possible time - and when we finally did get in the poor tutor was overwhelmed by questions ranging from the statistical to the computer illiterate. I'm paying $1900/semester and this is what I'm getting!! I'd feel even more ripped off if I were an overseas student and paying in the $10,000 range. We didn't even get the tute questions beforehand and no answers - despite most of us not even making it through question one.
I really wish this department would just get its act together.
