Moreland Council are a bunch of... well many things really, but none that I can justify putting on other people friends pages.
I just got another parking fine. Why? I parked out the front of my house. In the bus stop. After the bus had finished for the day (bus finishes at 12.30pm, I parked at 2pm, got fined at 3.30pm.) Interestingly, the car which has been parked for the past 3 days in the place I parked in last time I got fined (and which is, technically, in the bus stop) didn't get fined.
I'm not paying this one. Legally I doubt I have a leg to stand on, but in the 7 years I have lived here I have seen exactly 2 cars get fined. Both mine, and both under dodgy circumstances. They can raise their goddam revenue off someone else.
Last time I complained about the fine, and got the response "oh you can phone us if people are parked there". I told them to do their own bloody work. This time, I think I'll phone them every time someone is parked there. Given that there is a post box about 5 metres away, that's roughly every 2 hours on a weekday. And every time the bus driver dumps his rubbish in the gutter outside my place (where it all blows into my front yard).
And I'm complaining to my local councillor. If the council can fund his trip to Lebanon when he was outgoing mayor (to promote "peace and trade between the city of Moreland and Lebanon" no less - we were of course techically still at war before that and not trading at all. The fact that he went to the area where his family's from is coincidence, naturally.) then he can get off his arse and investigate why I'm being fined for such a stupid offence.
Really not happy Jan.
