Nov. 23rd, 2007 12:22 pmI voted yesterday. There were a surprisingly high number of people getting their votes in early - the AEC has been advertising a lot about how to pre-vote, so maybe it's not actually that surprising at all. The Senate ticket is still enormous. I did have fun numbering all 68 boxes though (while Dean leaned against the wall rolling his eyes and waiting for me to hurry up and finish). Why put only one number in when you only get to do this once every three or so years?
Because I'd arrived on one crutch I was asked if I needed a chair for the waiting queue (no, really it's fine), a disabled access voting booth with a chair (no, really it's fine) and a chair for when I was putting the votes in the envelope (but then I wouldn't be able to reach the bench!)
Anyway, it's done and we can go to Sydney with fewer worries.
We've set everything up for the auction as well, which, ergh. I think I'll not think about it, there's nothing I can do.
I didn't play netball last night, but I watched - meh, depressing. At least we didn't get rained on this time! And I've given the bibs and balls to someone else, so I can choose whether or not I show up on Monday. If it's raining, I'm staying home.
I'm off the crutch today, which has been good so far. Stairs are still a bit of an issue though - it's the stretching of the muscle that does it. I think it should be fine for tomorrow, although a better grasp of Sydney would help. It's just taken me five minutes to find out how to get to the starting line, let alone anywhere else. We are totally coming last.
