And continuing the pregnancy week theme

So I caught up with a friend and her new baby yesterday at lunch. Aww, baby, so cute! He's really gorgeous though.. I know, I know, he's a baby, of course he's cute.

My friend did her best to put me off pregnancy, birth etc by going into detail about it and how she's currently feeling - I think I'm immune, I've listened to so many stories about it over the last couple of years it's stopped worrying me. And besides, aww, baby, so cute! Heh.

The thing that did stop me in my tracks though was when she said:

"You know, out of the 6 of us that used to have morning coffee together in '98/'99, we've now got 7 sons and a daughter between us."

Considering that I have no children, that's actually quite a lot of kids! And why so many boys? How bizarre. Could be the 32P I suppose... ;-)

And aww, baby, so cute!

Radioactive phosphate. Before lovely floroescent-labelled things got cheap we all used to radiolabel everything. And in the labs we were in we were doing a lot of radiolabelled stuff.

Technically of course it's nothing to do with any of the lunch group anyway, it's all the men involved, but never let that get in the way of a good paranoid speculation.
