  1. 24:
The TV show. I liked the first series, was kind of meh on the second two and am enjoying taking the piss out of the fourth. Spooks (first two seasons at least) shits all over it. I should probably include Spooks on my interests list as well. But again, 24. It doesn't hold together particularly well if you watch it all at once: there are always plotholes you can drive semis through, loose ends trailing and CTU is the paranoid-workplace-from-hell. And it doesn't have a nightshift, dammit! But hey, it's got Kiefer. Even if he does piss Dean off a lot by continually holding his handgun wrongly. Heh. He's Kief. He's indestructible. He's died... twice! He tortures people on the basis of absolutely minimal reason. He's never held to account for any of this. But he's Kief. And I still like the 24 hour format, I just wish they had some better plotting (see Spooks series 1 finale/series 2 opening for an example of what I mean here. Now that could work in a 24 hour format.)
  2. essendon:
Football team I follow - well sort of. I'm not massively fanatical, but if you asked, that'd be the answer. Currently out of the finals. Hopefully will do better next year - or my tipping will be as ordinary as it was this year.
  3. greg egan:
A short story of his (Silver Fire) got me back into reading SF after quite a long time away. Favourite short story: The Moral Virologist. Favourite book: probably Quarantine.
  4. hasselt:
Where I lived in 1990. At some point I will get back and visit people. I hope.

  5. herk-de-stad:
Also where I lived for part of 1990, and where I played volleyball. Curiosity meant that I added this to see how many other people had it.
  6. netball:
I play in two teams, a mixed and a womens. I've been playing for the best part of 24 years. I'm still crap. Oh well. Someday I'll grow the extra 20 cm needed to play at the top level. ;-)
  7. reading:
I can't actually remember learning to read, but I still do an awful lot of it. I used to read fiction almost exclusively, but now I seem to be leaning a lot more towards non-fiction.
  8. robert graves:
    Loved I, Claudius.
  9. sci-fi:
I think this came from dreaming about the possibilities.
  10. science:
Technically I work in this field. Obviously I'm still interested, otherwise I'd probably have found something else to do.
