You know what really bugged me about The Amazing Race this week? And this is something I seriously never thought I'd say about this show... but... it bored me. You knew from the first task who was going to be eliminated. There was basically nowhere that teams bunched. The first task was just... stupid. I mean, at least as inane as the "Run around a fountain in Singapore" task, which remains my worst-task-idea-ever award winner. Couldn't they have made it a bit tricky? Hell, the counting trees, clocks and something else that I've forgotten in Switzerland was actually quite hard. This was just piss-weak. It wasn't even like it was hard to find the fence. Meh, bah humbug.

And the kayak polo? For God's sake people, let the bloody opposing teams defend. Because otherwise you may as well just say "Sit in a canoe here by yourself and throw balls at a goal until you manage to get one in." Worse than the Hungarian waterpolo effort.

Not least thanks to the dodgy Russian computers the two teams I dislike most have had a fool-proof - and I say that advisedly - lead and are basically sharing the leg prizes between them (and another thing I hate: guys, ditch the freaking prize-per-leg. It gets seriously old. I know it's sponsorship deals, but really? I'd rather they sponsored more FFs on the race. Seriously) and there has been no way the teams that didn't strike it lucky in Russia have been able to catch up (and no FFs to help them at least catch a frigging break). And geez it's bugging me.

I know the idiotboys are reasonable racers. But they also have the advantage of time, which means they're a lot less likely to make stress-related mistakes and be eliminated. They know they're in front, and they've got a reasonable idea of how far. Personally I hope there's a major bunch soon and they can all go to hell. Might be hoping for too much, I know. *sigh*

And now my nerds have gone. *sigh* Which leaves me two teams I can't stand, one team who irritate the bejesus out of me, one who vary and two who I don't mind most of the time. Guess who's who then. :-)

The two you can't stand: BJ & Tyler, Eric & Jeremy
The two you don't mind most of the time: Lake & Michelle, Ray & Yolanda
One who varies: Monica & Joseph
One who irritates you: Fran and Barry the Hairy Scary Monster.

Am I right?

I agree with you on this leg. The only bit I really enjoyed was the carrying of the swordfish through the streets. If only for the looks on everyone's faces as they went past.
I wish they'd bring back the one FF per leg, if only to bring back the phrase "Most Advantageous to Go For It", which I miss. There's always next week, don't forget, and at least there are no Weavers involved.

I wanna whinge too!

What sort of roadblock was that! See this thing set up RIGHT. IN. FRONT. OF. YOU - who wants to do it? Yeh -really tough decision that one. My favourite show is becomming one great big travelocity gnome - stale and lifeless (and a bit dated).

yes - bring back the FF - bring back the geeks! gwerkrsjjk! hating the hate (though Phil looked pretty darn cute!)
