We're back from our two week trip around Egypt. Back as in back in Cairo, not back as in Melbourne.

We had the absolute best time. A great group of people travelling together, a really well organised and run trip and a lot of fantastic memories.

It was really sad leaving everyone this morning (1.45am actually, as one person had an early flight so we all hung out a bit longer) and now we're washing all the clothes we took with us (thank God I left one set of clean clothes at my brother's place) and vaguely feeling like there's too few people and we've lost all our friends!

We're in and around Cairo for a couple more days, then in Singapore for a bit (I decided I really should find out what else is in Singapore besides Changi Airport) before coming home again.

Photos and probably better written stuff to follow. And then I'll have to do a major catch up of news, LJ, e-mail - and of course football. Good thing I did two weeks tips before I left...

There is way lots to do in Singapore - I suprised myself! And "the other Alison" is still there so that will be weird for me for a bit. The Zoo is preety cool, the Bonsai collection is amazing, Bukit Timah is joyous - I didn't even go to Sentosa in 10 days and I still had more stuff to do. Oh and the love Sunday Brunch with French Champagne at the big hotels - that's stomach groaning fun. Fun An technology department store (it's HUGE) - and we went to Pulau Ubin - and island off the coast near Changi Village - which was almost unspoilt - like a Village Kampong - where we hired bikes, saw rambutans on trees and drank coconut water from a coconut. It was a good balance to the "over processed" nanny state that is Singapore.

The Chinatown Heritage Centre is an absolute must - I liked the botanical gardens and took a cooking class there. That was fun.
