Happy meme
Dec. 10th, 2008 05:17 pmThe rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same.
Or just do it if you want to. I stole it from
bugshaw.
Happy things - Connex had their "We Love You, Myriad Customers! Please Don't Get Upset With Our Interesting Service Levels! Have Some Coffee! Have Some Chocolate! It's Christmas!" Christmas bash today, which meant that Santa was at the station handing out chocolate, and there was free coffee. The coffee made me laugh a lot - there were two guys doing it, one of whom was frantically churning out coffee while the other very slowly asked everyone what they wanted, and then carefully added the milk/sugar/whatever to the espressos. Guess which one was probably the trainee? Heh. Because I am willing to miss trains in order to get a free cappuccino, Dean and I lined up - and managed to get both our coffees and our train. Heh. Even better for Dean, this time the train didn't magically turn into a Blackburn train at Flinders St, and actually went around the loop!
It was interesting though - just about everyone was smiling at Santa and at the coffee guys, even as they worked out that there was no way for them to get a coffee before the train arrived because the line was too long. Christmas magic (and free stuff!) works again!

Date: 2008-12-10 09:15 am (UTC)I'd have happily missed a train if it meant getting a cappuccino. Fortunately, I have a colleague who will make me cappuccinos if I ask nicely. And she's promised to teach me how, too!
