I'm usually pretty good at mishearing lyrics.

Even so, I'm amazed at just how badly I managed to mishear "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga. I don't think I've mangled lyrics quite so much since spending almost a decade wondering why "Stuart Diver" featured in an American song (short answer: he didn't, actually.)

So I looked up the "Poker Face" lyrics. The bit I was wondering about was in the chorus:

Can't read my, can't read my
No he can't read my poker face
(She’s got to love nobody)

"She's got to love nobody".

Which I was hearing as "Shame she's got to [something] nobody."

No idea where the extra word "shame" came from, or why I couldn't hear 'love' in there at all.

The funny thing is I'm still hearing it as "shame" even though I know what it's supposed to be.

Same as 'Stuart Diver', which I've never managed to hear as the correct lyric (if I manage to remember what the hell the actual song is or who it's by then I'll tell you what the correct lyric allegedly is.)

Still, at least I managed to work out "St George save yourself" before it got hardwired into my brain.

Edit: just realised I'm subconsciously 'hearing' the Lady Gaga thing as "Shame she's got to be nobody" which doesn't make a huge amount of sense either. I'm wondering if my subconscious is just filking for the hell of it now.

The actual lyric is "is you a jiver", as I recall. "Stuart Diver" makes more sense!

My favourite is the Eminem song:

The Eminem one is "When I'm Gone". I can't remember the other one - I only remember some breakfast show making fun of it (Adam and Wil, probably)

It's about time National Party members got some recognition! I want to hear a song about Tim Fischer and his hat ;)

It's "Say Ooh la la" by the Wiseguys, at least I think it is from googling (finally got some chorus lyrics into my brain). And the lyric is "Do it jive" according to the web. God knows, maybe it actually is Stuart Diver.

Wil and Adam made fun of it? Don't remember that one at all, must have missed it.

I quite like the clip, mostly because this current trend of dancing in high heels and bathers makes me giggle. I wish they'd introduce that to the Miss America contest, it'd make the swimsuit section far more entertaining... heh.

I saw her on Sunrise yesterday, and they showed a Letterman clip of her performance there and she was in some kind of nude leotard, so it was like she was dancing with no pants on. Was freaky and nasty! Didn't get any of my girl approval! :)

Yeah, a bit over the nude/fauxnude dancing myself. The bright blue thing she wears in the clip is very blue though, and definitely not nude!
