falling behind in the updating front.
Feb. 19th, 2010 12:40 pmI've fallen behind a bit in my updating, mostly because exercise and work seem to be taking up a fair amount of time.
Quick bullet points that I want to expand on later:
* We've now walked the entire trail, having completed checkpoints 6-8 last weekend. We're having a rest weekend this weekend (thank God), partly because people can't make it and partly because we're all tired. I for one am looking forward to not getting up at 5.30am this Saturday! I'll probably still do a short (3 hourish) walk though.
* We ran two pancake fundraisers that went well and raised money.
* That bloke we ran into the first time we walked along the coast? Was in last week's paper. I did like the quote: Partly to help educate people about the disease, partly to raise money for research into a cure, and more than slightly out of sheer bloody-mindedness, Mr Williams will compete in the Marathon des Sables in April. Yep, that was my impression too.
* Exercise doesn't seem to be making me much fitter. Or I could be getting depressed as my blood sugar levels drop. I only noticed this week that I cheer up after a jelly snake (or after eating in general). I think I should probably keep them in the car.
* Actually seriously? Exercise doesn't really seem to be making me much fitter. I still suck.
* I have the darkest plumber's tan going at the moment, not least from getting sunburned the other weekend. (Fortunately I'm abstaining from the bum crack option.)
* I've booked a long weekend away in Qld for after the walk. Yay! Hoping I can walk again by then.
* Work is a whole other friends-locked entry.
* Soccer is frustrating at the moment because so many people are out.
* Netball for a change has an overwhelming number of people, even with one person vanishing after having an argument with her cyber-boyfriend. Apparently she's still around, just not communicating with anyone. Helpful. And we're winning occasionally which is both nice and surprising.
*Uni starts again next month. I think it does at least, nothing's been put up yet. *shrug*
