Feb. 13th, 2003 04:36 pmI just checked the CFA website. Literally everywhere we went on holidays has either had fires burn through, or is currently having community meetings to inform everyone of where to go when/if the fires arrive.
There's still an enormous firefront burning from Omeo to NSW.
It's really quite amazing, especially when you consider that there's barely any coverage of them at the moment - they're off in the bush and let's face it, Osama's rant is more recent and Warney's out of the World Cup (suffer!)
But that is still one huge fire.

Date: 2003-02-18 10:19 pm (UTC)So no property threats, and lots of backburning.
And the area burnt so far equals a circle around Melb with a radius of 60km (!!)
