So there was apparently a rally for peace and against war in Melbourne on Friday.

I knew nothing about it until I got home and there was a message on the answering machine:

"Hi, it's me... there's some bloody stupid demonstration going on and they're blocking the trams.. dunno when I'll get home..."

*beep*

No Dean didn't know about it either. I'm not sure who did know about it, but obviously quite a large number of people did. Although out of their 100,000 estimated crowd Dean estimated at least 6000 were office workers who had no idea it was on and were trying to either catch trams or trains home given that Swanston St and Melbourne Central station were both completely blocked... ;-)

So yeah, Dean was at the rally against war. For quite some time too. He left work at 5 and got home at 7.40. (Normally about a 45 min tram ride). I left work at 7 and beat him in.

Dunno why he didn't just walk up to Parliament and catch the train from there... :-

Myself and Claire were also there (trying to get to the cinema). We thought about trying to get a "Three Cheers for Bush" shout going. We finally made it to the cinema by using a long cut through Myer.

Claire knew about it (her bosses were there), but I only heard about it on the Radio on the way over.
