World Cup update #4

Well that was a washout! At least Argentina's somewhat stunning loss to Germany has made the Australian team feel better - we may not have gotten through to the next round, but we lost with the same scoreline as Argentina did and we were a man down!

Moral victory there, totally. Heh.

So now I'm hoping my Germany prediction is enough to win me kudos if not actual money in the work sweep. Given that the other half of my prediction (Brazil) is out, I've no idea who they'd be up against! At this rate though the final scoreline will be 4-0/1/2. Heh.

I think I'm barracking for the Netherlands. Especially now that they've beaten Brazil, which I think is pretty awesome. Though if the final turned out to be Netherlands vs Germany, that would *not* be a friendly game...

Also, Australia absolutely has won a moral victory over Argentina. It's obvious we are the better team...

(sigh, and with Ghana gone, there really are no proper long-shots to barrack for)

Yes, clearly the octopus is better at footy tipping than most of this Institute.

Incidentally, I do like this article, which refers to him as 'The German-based seawater soccer soothsayer'. Someone is having far too much fun writing that...
