So for the over 25 million people who have died of AIDS to date, the roughly 33.2 million people world-wide who are HIV positive, for the estimated 2.5 million new people who will become infected in the next year, and for their families, friends and communities I'm wearing a red ribbon today.
We can slow the pandemic. We can provide the necessary treatments, whether you are in the first or the third world. We can turn this around.
