hnpccThe get together actually went really well. 16 adults, 5 children - two kids were sick, one in hospital being observed for asthma, the other at home with gastro, and as a result two sets of parents didn't come either. Everyone else did, and brought food - which we still managed to eat most of. I think the growing children might be helping with that! (Not least because the youngest two can now reach the plate of gingerbread men, heh.) Both of one cousin's children have shot up enormously, so that the one that was my height last year is now taller than me by about 7cm, and the other is now at least 15cm taller than me and can touch the roof on the deck without having to stand on tippy toes. I feel short - I can't touch the roof of the deck unless I'm standing on something!
And we have an enormous Christmas tree - the Scouts only had large ones left, so that's what Dean and my Dad got. Pity I've only got one piece of tinsel!! Fortunately I have some other decorations, mostly hand made cross-stitch ones.
And now I'm really tired and have a soccer match in two hours. I'm very glad I've got tomorrow off, not least because I will actually need to clean again in preparation for my sister, brother-in-law and niece arriving next week. Thanks to the magic of Christmas parties on almost every night next week, tomorrow and Saturday are about the only days I'm going to be able to do anything.
