Advent calendar
Dec. 23rd, 2010 08:59 pmOn the twenty-third day of Christmas, with two sleeps left!, I opened the calendar window to reveal:

"Christmas day is nearly here,
North Pole is very busy:
Santa's tearing out his hair
The elves are getting dizzy,
Tetchiness, People walking on egg-shellsis[1]
Comet's got a good idea,
To help Santa with relaxing:
He will help him cut his hair
(But Prancer's doing the waxing)
Scissors a-ready, Santa now looks very special(sis)."
Yes, there's a children's hairdressers. I'm always a bit surprised that they make enough to keep going, but apparently that's because I am the kind of tight arse who would still use a soup bowl for as long as possible whereas other people will actually pay rather than risk blinding their wriggling child. I love that Santa appears thrilled with his new hairstyle - which is definitely special - even as Comet's thinking of ways he could possibly improve it (I'm suggesting #1 shave myself). And yes, I did have to use "Ding Dong Merrily On High" fairly much so I could talk about egg shells.
The other song I really, really wanted to do for this was the 1979 "Care For Kids" song that was done for the International Year of the Child. And no, there is no conceivable way that that is a Christmas song. But still, how could I not have "Hair For Kids" as a song?
"Hair for Kids,
Find a minute to spare for kids,
Better styling will care for kids,
Important to have flair with kids!
Oh Kids!
With the Stars in their eyes
(When they're not screaming/wailing)
Kids!
Better hair will let them be spies
(They've all seen Agent Cody...)
Long or short
We'll style them all..."
Yes, I can still remember the song, not least because my first guitar teacher used it as a song. Oh memories!
Oh well. While we're still sort of on the topic of bells (we were up a bit, at least) one more:

ZOMG!! Andre's Raffle of the Bells!! Raffle of the Star!! Raffle that Santa Has Entered!!
And yes, this is a new addition to the window that went up last weekend and made me laugh so much I had to include it. Don't forget Andre's raffle!!
[1]Yes, of course I had to make that joke!! What?
