lyrics meme

These are mostly songs that keep cropping up during my switching radio stations on the drive home. The rest are ones that just hang around in my head a lot.
1. You know how bad girls get.
2. The true word out on the streets/Is produced by the T.A.C.
3. Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
4. There's a half-eaten moon in the sky
5. I was feeling complicated/I was feeling low
6. Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
7. Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
8. The TV's on, that's what it's for.
9. bid my blood to run
10. All God's children they all gotta die
OK numbers 2, 4 and 8 may not have made it overseas, I dunno. Rest should have. Mind you, talk about eclectic bunch! What happens when you don't stick with one station I suppose.

Date: 2003-07-24 05:15 pm (UTC)And even if it does, I usually can't remember the name of the song, the artist or the year it was sung in. :-)
Probably why I'm not relied on for the music questions at trivia nights. Although I got Salt'n'Pepa the other night...

Date: 2003-07-24 11:44 pm (UTC)The Eurythmics and Police songs are in my computer at work, "Birdhouse" I love and Barbie Girl is just... Barbie Girl. I defy anyone to forget the words to that song.
years as wild guesses... police 1979, Eurythmics 1986, TMBG 1989 and Aqua 2000.
I expect to get none of those right.

Date: 2003-07-24 05:12 pm (UTC)One of my favourite TISM lines. Up there with the start of "You'll never be an old man, River" and "More is Les, Les is more" - but that would have been much too much of a gimme.
A bit like 3 and 7 really, but I like those lines too. And I can remember them, which is always difficult when sitting in a dead silent room - my mind goes blank of all music - and all band names. Tricky.
I like their new stuff...
Date: 2003-07-24 06:07 pm (UTC)De Rigeurmortis is easily my favourite TISM album. Here are some song titles to get you into the headspace:
If You're Not Famous At Fourteen You're Finished
10 Points For A Razor Scooter
Thou Shall Not Britney Spear
Fatboy Slim Dusty
This CD also has more hidden tracks than listed ones. Indeed, the track listed starts at 2...

Date: 2003-07-24 06:26 pm (UTC)I've only got the Machiavelli one. Which I mostly got for the River Phoenix, Greg and Les Murray songs.
Oh, and the "All homeboys are dickheads" song. :-)
