It's almost the weekend again.
Time flies when you're running around trying to work out cloning strategies.
No new news on grants. Still hanging in there, we hope.
A strange week on the roads. One suicidal gunman and traffic grinds to a halt as a major freeway is closed. A water main on one of the roads leading into Monash bursts, leaving cars to squelch through a foot of water. They closed the entrances to the road, but not the Monash entrance, which would of course be where most of the cars were coming from anyway. The main's fixed. Two days later it bursts again. A car crash turns out to be a double murder/attempted suicide. Two four car collisions this morning.
Must be the phase of the moon. Or spring.
In keeping with spring, the weather has become unsettled again. Squalls keep sweeping in off the bay, bringing rain, hail, thunder and occasionally power blackouts. Then the wind drops and it's sunny and mild. Netball was cancelled Monday due to rain and, more importantly, the court flooding. Half way home again it was clear skies. Melbourne has some very odd weather patterns. Sunday we came home to find the lawn covered in hail, so much so that it looked as if it had snowed. The Datsun had a beautiful layer of white over it, and two cats sheltering underneath. Monash didn't get a drop.
This weekend the car's in for servicing again, hopefully to fix the kinks that the unsealed roads put in it (particularly the radio - I like stereo, and I miss it). I might send Dean up with it, and try and make some headway on the tax before we hit October again and it all becomes urgent.
Oh, and the Hons student finally officially quit and we chucked out all her solutions. Better late than never I suppose.
